Oui Papa Yo! - CARIFESTA Signal Fashion Runway Event
The Fashion Company of Trinidad & Tobago Limited (FashionTT) wishes to advise that its Signal Fashion Runway Event “Oui Papa Yo!” has reached maximum capacity.
We thank the public for its overwhelming response to this theatrically styled fashion runway presentation, however, we wish to advise that seating will be on a first-come basis for those who have registered.
CARIFESTA’s 3-hour advance ticket access will not apply to this show at the Hyatt. We look forward to your cooperation as we showcase the talents of these local and regional designers.
CARIFESTA 2019 celebrates the uniqueness of the Caribbean industry. Oui Papa Yo! will feature 30 designers from all over the region showcasing every segment of the regional industry on Thursday 22nd August at the Hyatt Regency from 5:00 PM.
CARIFESTA fashion will highlight and display the creative outputs of regional designers; illuminating the craftsmanship and skill of Caribbean people through design. Each segment of the regional fashion industry offers a creative outlet for Caribbean people to authentically express their uniqueness. From the theme Carifesta 2019 “Connect Share Invest” this show will focus on the interconnection between the Caribbean fashion industry and other elements of the creative industry.
Oui Papa Yo! is a theatrically styled fashion runway presentation showcasing the eclectic mix of outstanding fashion creatives of the region (no less than thirty) to render a world-class exposition of style.
Our Caribbean style encompasses the innovative energies of costumers, accessories artisans, indigenous crafts persons, resort wear designers, bespoke tailors and high fashion stylists, all reflecting unapologetically our Caribbean aesthetic.
The event will be presented in the form of a grand fashion performance extravaganza, with runs of dynamic fashion stories of contemporary style told utilizing performance art - modelling, dance, spoken word, music; new media art and design art, reflecting the style sensibility and festival tradition of our regional sense of imaging.
There will be Five (5) fashion stories:
- Fashioning the future – youth/urban wear
- Selfie (femme fatale)– On point international women’s apparel
- Happiest Man Alive – Fashion Forward Menswear
- J’adore Caraibe – Regional resort wear
- Festival Flair – Craft/wearable art
Thirty (30) identified designers will be styled to roll out cutting edge, on-trend international best-practice styling textured with a Caribbean flair.
